What You’ll Need

  • 1-2 lbs of ground beef

  • 1 yellow onion, diced a

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 can (15.5 oz) black beans, drained

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

  • 1 Mexican Chili Spice Pod

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 1/2 cup boiled water

Suggested Recipe

Pour 1/2 cup of boiled water over spice pod, cover and let rest for 5 minutes. Dissolve and stir until liquid form. In a pot sauté diced onion over medium heat until translucent. Add ground beef and sauté. Add in bell pepper and black beans. Cook covered for 10 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and tomato paste. Pour dissolved spice pod into pot. Simmer on low heat for 40 minutes. Stir occasionally.


Serve and enjoy.


Best served with taco shells (soft or hard) or rice -- and topped with fresh guacamole.
